Welcome To capsinsignia.com This site has been established for the preservation and display of Civil Air Patrol insignia through my personal collection.
About myself
I began my Civil Air Patrol "career" in the spring of 1969 as a cadet in Ohio Wing. I was in the eighth grade at that time. For the next 4 1/2 years, I participated in the cadet program in a number of aspects. I attended 4 Wing Encampments and achieved the rank of Cadet/2nd Lieutenant. I received the Michell award, and was selected to receive a Wing scholarship for flight training through solo. I soloed before my 17th birthday, and recieved my FAA Private Pilot's license before I graduated high school. After I graduated high school, I left the program when I went to college. I rejoined Civil Air Patrol immediately after 9/11 because I wanted to serve in some capacity and, at that point, I was too old to join the military. Since rejoining, I have served in many functions in my home squadron, such as Deputy Commander of Cadets, Cadet Programs Officer, Emergency Services Officer, Moral Leadership Officer, Ground Team member, etc. I am still currently active, as Captain, and Ground Team Leader.
In the summer of 2006, I became interested in collecting Civil Air Patrol patches, primarily individual unit patches. My collection has grown and, having stirred the interest of others, has brought me to the point of establishing this site for the purpose of making my collection available for viewing to anyone who is interested.
I have FINALLY found the time to update the site so that navigation by wing is possible, rather than random pages.
This site is updated frequently. Please check back often.
